Celebrating Michelle!

Four of my dear neighborhood friends gathered with me today to celebrate Michelle, who is one half of the garden design team that orchestrated our front yard meadow...

We started the day with homemade churos and chocolaté and sweet tangerines...

 

and then made our way out to the labyrinth, so Michelle could light a candle for all wishes of the heart along her path for this coming new year...

we walked together in celebration of Michelle...

and then sped off to South-East San Francisco to Flora Grubb (that is truly the owner's name!) Gardens...

I must tell you...

I felt as if we had stepped into another world with plants so exotic,

colors so rich,

beneath a sky so blue...

that you forgot completely that at this time of the year...
it is supposed to be raining cats and dogs...

our shadows stretched...

as did our imaginations... taking eco-conscious powered cars to a whole new dimension...

opening magical doors...

where walls are living...

and colorful critters...

peek out at you from the most unusual places...

a rainbow of seats and tables to choose from...

and delectible dishes not for eating,
but a feast for the eyes...
