Haiku My Heart ~ Wings of Sun

See these wings of sun,
before taking to the skies,
still... for the moment...

It was quite incredible
to have this Eastern Swallowtail Butterfly pause,
right in my garden
and allow me to be so close...

I wanted to stroke that furry back of his...
but was content
to be in awe of this great beauty
and have the opportunity to share it with you...
