Veriditas Global Healing Walk for Haiti

It is dark,
wet,
and cold here…
I am alone…
I step forward and light
the heart space…
blazing light sizzles in the damp night
connecting me in circles ever expanding
as I step onto this lone path…
I walk in silence,
my heart full of thoughts
of those who’s night is ever deeper,
where even though the sun shines…
their despair reaches…
searching for meaning to a world turned upside down,
shaken and broken...
their humanity seen by those who will look…
Walking this path…
I reach back, touching the hands of those walking
around the world,
weaving our love to hold that which is no more,
to that unknown
where all life ends and begins again…
Asking for compassion,
humility,
sustenance,
love,
healing,
recognizing our face in other,
being present with this step,
and the next…
holding our light,
gently…
so others may find their way home…

I've known Cooper Fox all of his nine years.

He's an amazing little guy
and quite the entrepreneur,
when he's not playing soccer or basketball,
with his walnut and pumpkin business in the Fall...
Lately he's delved into making jewelry
and he is quite good...
I have two pair...
so far...

Over the holidays, I saw Cooper and his mom and dad, and asked him if he would like to have a show at my new studio... After asking permission from his parents, he said a hearty "yes"!!!!

Here is a sample of some of his earrings...

Part of setting up the finer details for a show and sale was for Cooper to pick a charity or fund to donate 10% of all sales. He called me after our meeting and asked what I thought of making a donation to another neighbor and dearest of friends' Indigo Crone.

Indigo has an inoperable cervical cancer tumor. She has been valiant in doing everything possible to bring healing to herself... as you can imagine the expenses are enormous. Cooper and I are honored to be of some help to her and her husband David. There is actually a large fund raiser happening at Santa Rosa's Community Market & Gaia's Garden Restaurant (with live music provided by friends of Indigo's at the restaurant) on Friday, January 15th. Portions of sales from both places will go to Indigo's Medical Expense Fund.

4th of July & 4 Directions

This 4th of July...
I feel the most connected I have ever felt
to having a sense of community with a group of people
who identify themselves as an entity...

For the first time in my life... I feel patriotic...
I feel a part of the whole...

From the South...

To the West...

To the North...

To the East...

May we come together and celebrate our differences...

and be partners with the rest of the world
in creating a future that is beautiful...

Happy Birth Day to US... May we embrace with all our heart the incredible joy of opportunity we have in living as a part of this beautiful world...

aDRESSing The Situation~The Women of Juarez Mexico

Artist everywhere today... are sending the dresses they made off to Stampington and Company with the hope that our heARTs and voices will bring more attention to the plight of the women of Juarez, Mexico...

I find that there are usually at least two sides to every story... So my dress has two sides and my story comes in the words that follow...

Bring a light
to the darkness of night that veils
the tears, the loss, the fear…

Bring a light to the seven silver sisters
watching from the night sky
so they might point the way for us all to start again...

Bring a light
to the sacred hearts...

even when life seems lost and broken...

so that the tears shed might transform...
becoming seeds of hope scattered to the wind...
taking root in the fertile soil of the soul...

Bring the light of day to hearts made whole...
where women may grow and flourish
like the flowers of a garden

their beauty a radiant sun...
bringing life giving joy to all men, children,
and women everywhere…

Bring a light, a voice,
and the song of our hearts...
now and forever...

Every woman deserves a beautiful dress and the birth right to walk and dance in the world, free of fear, harm, and with respect and dignity...

Thank youto the women who came before me, and the men who supported them, so that I could have the privaledge to vote and have a say in our government and what matters most to my heart... just think... only 100 years ago, women and many other american citizens could not cast their vote...
